Doctor graduated from INTEC receives Medal of Merit for Women 2019


SANTO DOMINGO. - The Dr. Ryna Karina Then Vargas, Specialist vascular neurology and current medical director of the Stroke Service for Cooper University Hospital en New Jersey, received the Medal of Merit for Women 2019, which grants the Executive power, for his outstanding career in the Exterior and put on high the name of the Dominican Republic.  

Then Vargas is doctor in medicine, Summa Cum Laude, graduated from Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC). He did his studies in neurology in the university neurology program Montefiore / Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, where he also completed his sub-specialty in cerebrovascular accident (ACV) in the 2013 year.

That's it teacher for the Medicine School (Cooper Medical School of Rowan University), member of the Residency of Neurology de Cooper University Hospital and coordinator of the program Magisterial Conference of Neurology "Grand Rounds". It is also requirements awarded by the Society of Neurology y Psychiatry from the United States as a neurologist and vascular neurologist.

In the 2015, it was award-winning as Featured Hispanic for his work for the Latin American Society in the United States, especially in New Jersey. Dr. Ryna Then, together with a multidisciplinary team, achieved certification of "Comprehensive Stroke Center" awarded by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association (American Joint Association), which is the most prestigious in the United States for the care and management of patients with stroke and intracerebral hemorrhages.

It is also co-researcher of multiple studies in neurology y cardiology. He has presented and published articles in prestigious academies and American and international magazines. Last year was awarded by the prestigious magazine South Jersey Magazine as "Top Doc 2018" in neurology.
