ANPRAS and INTEC sign agreement for training in asphalt pavement design and quality.


The university and the association will offer the first diploma in Asphalt Pavement Design.

SANTO DOMINGO. - La National Association of Asphalt Producers (ANPRAS) and the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) They signed a collaboration agreement that marks a milestone in the training and specialization of professionals in the country's road infrastructure sector.

The agreement aims to develop high-level academic programs aimed at strengthening the technical skills of engineers and specialists in asphalt and pavement construction.

During the event, both institutions announced the opening of the first diploma in Asphalt Pavement Design, which will launch in the coming weeks. As part of this launch, a Raffle of 15 scholarships among ANPRAS member companies, and 10 additional scholarships for the general public.

"With this agreement, we reaffirm our commitment to quality, innovation, and the ongoing training of professionals who impact road development in the Dominican Republic," said the president of ANPRAS. Engineer Ramón Gabriel Aguilera, at the time of signing.

For her part, Alliet Ortega Rabassa, interim rector of INTEC, highlighted the importance of connecting academia with productive sectors to ensure that the knowledge acquired responds to the real needs of the economy's strategic sectors.

"At INTEC, we firmly believe in university-business collaboration as a way to generate useful knowledge and train professionals with the skills society demands. This alliance with ANPRAS represents an opportunity to further bring our students closer to professional practice, while strengthening applied research in civil engineering," said Ortega Rabassa.

In addition to the diploma in Asphalt Pavement Design, it was announced that in the coming months other specialized training programs will be offered in different areas related to the quality in the asphalt process, which will be communicated in due course.

The alliance between ANPRAS and INTEC seeks to raise the technical standards of the sector, thus contributing to the improvement of road infrastructure and national competitiveness.
