Diploma in Gender Equality and Social Policy Perspective Begins
SANTO DOMINGO. – A total of 51 Technical collaborators and officials from different institutions of the Social Policy Cabinet began the “Diploma in Gender Equality and Social Policy”, that It is part of the contributions of the project Strengthening Health and Social Protection Systems financed by the European Union through funds delegated to the French Development Agency and under the responsibility of implementation of French expertise.
The diploma is taught by the Center for Gender Studies Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and the Social Policy Cabinet (GPS) and sponsored by French expertise.
In her opening remarks, Dalul Ordehi, dean of the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities at INTEC, praised this initiative, referring to the importance of gender equality training for staff involved in managing social policies implemented in the country.
Likewise, Emilie Daniel Garcia, Project Director at Expertise France, praised the initiative of the Ministry of Women and the Social Policy Office (GPS) to join forces to contribute to strengthening the Social Protection System through gender equality training.
Meanwhile, Estefani Jerez, head of Public Policy for the Social Policy Office, expressed the institution's commitment to achieving the Diploma's objectives, given its importance in improving gender and social inclusion perspectives in institutional actions.
Likewise, Miguelina Ramírez Kelly, Director of Education at the Ministry of Women, delivered the closing remarks at the ceremony, reiterating the ministry's commitment to building a society where equal rights and opportunities prevail for all.
Desiree del Rosario Sosa, coordinator of INTEC's Gender Studies Center, provided guidance on the academic process, and Zobeida Ramírez, director of Learning Resources, provided guidance on using the virtual campus.
