The preclinical activities laboratory of the Dentistry degree is a support unit for the development of academic activities that aims to contribute to the student's training process, integrating theoretical knowledge with the development of skills and abilities obtained through practice, constituting the know-how of Dentistry.
Its objective is based on the development of competencies in the area of the student's skills and abilities, in a stage prior to the practice of clinical subjects (patient care). As well as training the student in the preclinical stage through a gradual learning plan, where they will learn and manipulate various biomaterials, instruments and dental simulation equipment, until they obtain the required skills, abilities and knowledge, simulating their future approaches with patients.
The Dental Simulation Laboratory is a hands-on, controlled environment where dental students can practice and hone their clinical skills.
This laboratory includes individual stations equipped with dental simulators, tools and equipment that simulate the conditions of a real clinic, where students develop psychomotor skills in relation to the use of direct and indirect vision and the biological and functional rehabilitation of dental tissues.
Students use these devices to perform procedures such as dental prophylaxis, cavity restorations, tooth carving, root canal treatments, all under the supervision of trained teachers.
