Dr. Eduardo Latorre

Graduated in Economics and International Relations from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles (1963), completed a Master's in International Relations (1984) and obtained a Doctorate in Political Science from Columbia University, New York 1972. He was born in Santo Domingo on 12 December 1941.

Founder, teacher and rector of INTEC for two consecutive periods 1976-1984; Secretary of Foreign Relations during the period 1996-2000, and director of the State Sugar Council (CEA) and the Ministry of Finance.

Latorre received decorations as an outstanding diplomat by the governments of Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, France and China.

As a tribute to his leadership in the formation of the university and to his outstanding exercise of public function from different positions, INTEC has honored his memory by naming the new Postgraduate building on the academic campus after him. The building was inaugurated on February 6, 2017.

He died in the city of Miami in 2003.
