Dr. Luisa Taveras Pichardo

Taveras Pichardo is a PIES graduate with a degree in Psychology from INTEC, with Master's degrees in Educational Guidance and Psychopedagogical Intervention and in University Management and a PhD in Research Methodology in the Area of ​​Educational Sciences from the University of Córdoba, Spain. In addition, she has specialties in Curriculum Planning and Development Based on the Competence Approach, in Psychoeducational Evaluation and Intervention Techniques for School and Socio-Community Contexts, and in Educational Guidance and Psychopedagogical Intervention.

He has a solid professional career in the fields of teaching, psychological counseling, and academic and university management. With experience as Executive Vice-Rector of the Félix Evaristo Mejía Campus at the Salomé Ureña Teacher Training Institute (ISFODOSU) (2019-2020); Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts (2017-2019) and of the Faculty of Sciences and Humanities (2015-2017) of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM); Director of the Department of Basic Cycle of General Studies of the PUCMM (2010-2015) and has been a member of the technical evaluation team of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology for the study plans of the Education majors (2017-2020).
 
She has worked as a teacher in the areas of psychology and counseling, as well as counselor and coordinator of the Psychology department in different teaching centers.

She has been a facilitator in various workshops and a speaker on topics such as General Studies, Mathematics Teaching Strategies, Competency-Based Training, Violence, and others. The line of research of her doctoral thesis was on Negative Affectivity and Academic Performance.

She joined INTEC in 2021 as Executive Director of Teacher and Curriculum Development, until she became the director of the Academic Development Division, formed in September of that year.
