Agricultural Engineer, graduated from the Superior Institute of Agricultural Sciences of Granma, from his native Cuba; with a master's degree in Plant Biotechnology from the University of Ciego de Ávila and a doctorate in Biosciences and Agri-Food from the University of Córdoba, Spain.

He joined INTEC in 2008 as a professor by subject in the Basic and Environmental Sciences Area, and in 2010 he became a full professor, assuming the coordination of the sub-Area and the Biology Laboratory. He participated in the design of the degree in Biotechnology, a pioneering and unique program of INTEC in the Dominican Republic, and in which he served as coordinator since its approval in 2015.

He is an adjunct researcher in the Area of ​​Biological and Environmental Sciences, within the National Race of Researchers in Science, Technology and Innovation of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Meescyt). He has more than 20 scientific articles in indexed scientific journals and has been principal investigator and co-investigator in more than 15 projects of national and international calls.
